Staking Facilities is looking for a Blockchain Infrastructure Engineer to join our team specialized in cutting-edge Blockchain technology and new financial services. You will be responsible for maintaining and scaling our staking infrastructure. With more than $500 million in assets staked to our nodes, security and reliability are of utmost importance to us.

Your responsibilities

Deploying and maintaining blockchain node infrastructure.
Deploying and maintaining hardware in a datacenter environment.
Managing cloud-based systems (AWS, etc).
Monitoring our infrastructure and reacting to potential issues.
Understanding specific threats imposed by downtimes, and proactively mitigating risks.
Improving efficiency across our environments and workflows.

Your profile

Ideally, your technical skill-set should include most of the following:

In-depth knowledge of administering Linux/Unix-based systems and the ability to troubleshoot issues.
Experience with virtualization, preferably using VmWare/ESXi.
Experience with containerization technologies, such as Docker/k8s or LXD/LXC.
Experience and in-depth knowledge of computer networking. The ability to manage and troubleshoot issues from end-to-end.
Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or other VPS infra providers.
The ability to independently troubleshoot an issue, whether it stems from hardware, software, networking, etc. You should be able to dive into a log file, find the issue, and remedy it.

Your soft skills should include:

Being a great communicator, both written and verbal. In English, as we are an international team.
A willingness to document things concisely and accurately. Sharing knowledge within the team.
The ability to work autonomously, with a self-starter attitude and an analytical mindset.
A good sense of humour. We like to keep it fun around here!

Bonus skills that we’d highly appreciate:

Experience and knowledge of blockchain and node deployments.
Understanding of the risks specific to blockchain services, concepts such as Proof-of-Stake, etc.
The ability to script in a language such as Bash, Python, Go.
Experience with DevOps tooling and automation, such as Terraform, Ansible.
Experience with monitoring/alerting/logging tools, such as PagerDuty, Grafana, Graylog.
Experience with backup tools / methods and an understanding of how to create effective and resilient recovery processes.
Database Management, experience with SQL.
Systems Network Architecture / Design - The ability to discuss and design redundant and reliable infrastructure and implement improvements wherever possible.
Being in the Munich area would be a benefit, but we will certainly consider applicants that reside elsewhere.

We value experience, skills, attitude and an enthusiasm to learn, above all else. A degree in a relevant field such as CS is nice, but in no way required.
