Since the summer of 2021, Solana has been gaining a lot of tracktion in the trending market of NFTs, becoming the second most popular blockchain in this industry. The non-fungible token market found a new community and advantages at Solana, where it grew to become a driven force of the network. The Solana blockchain offers great benefits for the dynamic and fast-growing sector of NFTs, such as great gas fees for minting NFTs, fast transactions compared to the Ethereum blockchain, and innovative platforms for digital art.

With the explosion of this industry on Solana, many NFT marketplaces to mint, trade, and interact with NFTs surged. In fact, it became hard to keep up with all the new NFT marketplaces and what they offered. With that in mind, this article has a compilation of every single NFT marketplace on Solana up to March 2022.

What are NFTs?

NFTs are non-fungible tokens, which means they are unique and irreplaceable. Not clear yet? Let’s use an example:

Consider a $5 note and the Mona Lisa painting. A $5 bill can be switched at any moment by another $5 bill and not much would change, this wouldn’t be a problem at all. Therefore, the $5 note is a fungible token. The Mona Lisa artwork, on the other hand, is one-of-a-kind. There is only one piece of this work of art in the world and nothing can substitute it. This means the Monalisa is non-fungible.

Now, with blockchain technology, digital products such as digital art, music, skins for video games, and so on can become "non-fungible." Digital items that previously could be "Copy + Pasted" can now be transformed into NFTs. As a result, the piece has a provenance, is limited in quantity, and cannot be counterfeited. You can think of NFTs as digital art trading cards where even music NFTs, photography, and even NBA-built play highlights can be owned, sold, and traded. Pretty cool right?

Advantages of NFT projects on Solana

Solana, which already stood out as a great crypto space, also offers a great potential for further growth of the NFT market and other virtual worlds. This is due to its many benefits that can’t be found in other blockchains, such as:

Low fees

If you ever acquired an NFT or played an NFT game on Ethereum you know how expensive, mainly due to the extremely high gas fees. Solana, however, has very low transaction fees, making the NFT market more accessible and letting the community focus on the value of the product itself.

Fast processing

Solana is the fastest blockchain to date, meaning users can make transactions instantly. Thus, minting, trading, and processing any other actions with NFTs will be quicker on Solana than anywhere else.

New fast-growing community

Nowadays, the largest network for NFTs is Ethereum, but it is also the most saturated. The NFT scene on Ethereum became extremely competitive and hard to stand out. Solana, on the other hand, offers a new and still evolving fast-growing community. There is still a lot of space to expand and time for new artists or developers to introduce platforms and NFTs with less competition but with a large community at the same time.

What are NFT marketplaces?

An NFT marketplace is your access to trading digital assets ranging from art to music to entire virtual worlds. These marketplaces offer creators and NFT enthusiasts a variety of tools to trade, mint, and overall interact with non-fungible tokens and other digital assets. There are a number of platforms that co-exist in the industry of NFT and bring different propositions to users and enthusiasts. Regardless of being a creator, trader, fan, or just a curious user, there is an NFT marketplace on Solana that offers what you are looking for.

Solana NFT marketplaces

Solana’s thrilling NFT industry is still young, but nonetheless, it has already evolved extremely fast compared to other PoS networks like Polygon and Cosmos. In just a short period, a number of NFT marketplaces have surged on Solana. To help you choose the one that most fits your needs and goals, here is the complete list of all Solana NFT marketplaces as of November 2022 and the tools they offer to their users:
